micronimbus is a small zine of my macro microscopic anatomical paintings and is in sync with my écorché paintings. When I started this series I was spending the daytime doing my écorchés . Then, at night, to release from the detailed meticulousness that my daytime paintings required, I would freestyle doing gestural paintings that turned into these. I wanted them to feel like textbook illustrations of microscopic cellular views of illuminated or enchanted queer bodies.
